“On the ground” is a stage creation of two artists, colleagues, and friends of many years, Alenka Marinič and Maja Dekleva Lapajne.
It is a down-to-earth concert theatre piece that deals with the themes of precarious work, feminism, motherhood, and housing in late capitalism.
It is a witty music and theatre event that records the present and states the obvious, makes room for collective questioning rather than imposing solutions, and looks for playfulness even in the darkest and toughest of times.
“On the ground” is the second part of a trilogy by Maja Dekleva Lapanje and Alenka Marinič. In 2017, they launched the performance and music album “Underwater” (Pod vodo), which they soon followed up with the collaborative trilogy comprised of “Underwater,” “On the ground,” and “In the Air” (V zraku).
They also dream of creating an epilogue titled “Underground” (Pod zemljo), to be carried out by only one of them or even without the physical presence of either in this world.

--> Alenka Marinič is a graduate philosopher and historian, as well as an independent creator in the field of performing arts. As part of the Narobov Collective, she featured as a performer and co-author at many Slovenian and international venues. In 2013, she completed her education at the Helikos International School of Physical Theatre in Florence, Italy. Since then, she has been working with Justin Durel and Anja Bezova under the auspices of the Globus Hystericus society. She works in the field of street, clown, and physical theatre. She is most commonly known for co-hosting the satirical TV show “What’s Going on” (Kaj dogaja), in which she jokingly discusses current events with Tilen Artač, and as a Red Noses clown.

Her current projects include: “Underwater,” a submerged concert show about precarious living, motherhood, and art; “Along the Walk” (Vzdolž poti), an international performance art project dealing with the theme of slowing down; “4play,” a show with an international cast dealing with the topic of sex and sexuality through the prism of feminism; “To Die for” (Za crknt), an exploration of contemporary clown and cabaret formats; “Silver Gold” (Srebrno zlato), a practice that offers a meeting place for several generations of dancers where they can both exchange old and create new memories; “Refabicated Life” (Predelano življenje), a stage and writing practice with Norbert Sven Fö exploring the topics of improvisation, revolution, and love; and “From Water to Land” (Iz vode na kopno), a creative research process on the way from the submerged piece “Underwater” to the grounded piece “On the ground.”

The Association for the Promotion of Women in Culture – City of Women was established in 1996, a year after the first edition of the City of Women festival, with the purpose of preparing and running the festival annually.
Today, the association is a multifaceted organization that focuses on artistic, activist, and theoretical presentations and productions by women* throughout the year while also expanding its activities to arts education (running projects for youth and teachers), community building (initiating temporary communities that engage in co-creation of art), advocacy (collaborating with different stakeholders and awarding women who are changing our society for the better), and connecting art and culture with other sectors such as social, educational, and business.

„On the ground” este o creație scenică semnată de două artiste, colege și prietene de mulți ani, Alenka Marinič și Maja Dekleva Lapajne.
Este un spectacol de teatru-concert ancorat în realitate, care abordează teme precum munca precară, feminismul, maternitatea și locuirea în capitalismul târziu. Este un eveniment muzical și teatral plin de spirit, care surprinde prezentul și spune lucrurilor pe nume, deschizând spațiu pentru întrebări colective în loc să impună soluții, și care caută jocul și vitalitatea chiar și în cele mai întunecate și dificile momente.

--> Alenka Marinič este licențiată în filosofie și istorie și activează ca artist independent în domeniul artelor performative. În cadrul colectivului Narobov, a participat ca interpretă și coautoare la numeroase spectacole prezentate în Slovenia și pe scene internaționale.
În 2013, și-a finalizat studiile la Helikos International School of Physical Theatre din Florența, Italia. De atunci, colaborează cu Justin Durel și Anja Bezova sub egida Globus Hystericus. Lucrează în domeniul teatrului de stradă, al teatrului fizic și al clowneriei, fiind cunoscută în special ca co-prezentatoare a emisiunii TV satirice „What’s Going On” (Kaj dogaja), unde comentează cu umor actualitatea alături de Tilen Artač, precum și ca clovn Red Noses.

City of Women – Asociația pentru Promovarea Femeilor în Cultură este o organizație pionieră axată pe feminism și egalitate de gen în arte și cultură. Asociația a fost înființată în 1996, la un an după prima ediție a festivalului City of Women, cu scopul de a pregăti și organiza anual acest eveniment.
Astăzi, organizația este una complexă și multidisciplinară, concentrată pe producții și prezentări artistice, activiste și teoretice realizate de femei*, pe tot parcursul anului.
De asemenea, își extinde activitatea în domenii precum: educația artistică (prin proiecte dedicate tinerilor și profesorilor), construcția de comunități (prin inițierea de comunități temporare implicate în co-crearea artistică), advocacy-ul (colaborând cu diverși parteneri și recompensând femeile care contribuie la o societate mai bună) și conectarea artei și culturii cu alte sectoare, precum cel social, educațional sau economic.
Datorită donațiilor susținătorilor săi, asociația oferă și City of Women – Biblioteca Specială pentru Arte Contemporane și Feminism, care include lucrări unice disponibile pentru consultare și împrumut.

Alenka Marinič filozófus és történész diplomával rendelkezik, független alkotó a színművészetek területén. A Narobov Kollektíva tagjaként számos szlovén és nemzetközi rendezvényen lépett fel előadóként és társszerzőként. 2013-ban fejezte be tanulmányait a firenzei Helikos Nemzetközi Fizikai Színházi Iskolában.
Azóta Justin Durel és Anja Bezova mellett dolgozik a Globus Hystericus társulat égisze alatt. Utcai, bohóc- és fizikai színház területén dolgozik. Legismertebb szerepei között találjuk a szatirikus tévéműsor, a Kaj dogaja (Mi folyik itt?) társműsorvezetőjeként, amelyben Tilen Artač-csal viccesen beszélgetnek az aktuális eseményekről, valamint a Red Noses bohócok tagjaként.
